This tunic is inspired by deadstock dress fabric from the 1920s-1930s. The fabric has been faithfully reproduced and hand-block-printed in an ivy pattern. Block printing likely originated in China but is most associated with the Indian fabric tradition. It refers to a process wherein patterns are chiseled into wood blocks, painted, and hand-applied to the fabric.
